We are now 4 days into August; the dog days of summer. This insane heat has me begging for Fall to be here. I've never been a fan of hot weather, and trying to dress well in it is a nightmare for me. If I didn't have a care in the world, I'd just wear a swimsuit all day everyday, but unfortunately that's not an option. Doing easy, day-to-day tasks becomes the most daunting obstacle when the temps rise to the triple digits and when you could cut the air from the overwhelming humidity.
Managing a stylish boutique, I have dress standards to uphold. No one is going to want to buy from a disheveled looking sales associate. That being said, I do the best I can to hold on to my personal style while keeping cool. I'm sure I've stated before, I am a true jean-and-tshirt girl at heart. I have countless vintage tees and distressed jeans, but mixing it up makes for a fun task.
My love of vintage tees will never go away, so why not turn them into trendy outfits. I opted to pair this Pink Floyd band tee (yes, I actually listen to them!) with the Modern Femme Mini by Free People. The mini skirt gave me some relief as I wandered around Downtown Riverside in the worst of humidity. I kept with the vintage vibes by accessorizing with some canary yellow shades from YHF Los Angeles and a funky, fringe bag from Target. To finish it off, I slid on some Block Heel Mules from Birdie Boutique. I've been obsessed with the cognac color that is popping up everywhere for Pre-Fall styles, so this look is full of it. Fall couldn't come sooner! Cooler temps and pumpkin spice, I'm ready for you!
